Abstract
The relationship between oral and written literature can be traced to ancient times. In this case, I shall study a children game known as Las cuatro esquinas that is used by Vargas Llosa as a narrative nucleus of Paradise in another corner. This story is at the same time a summary of Paul Gauguin’s life adventure. The preuvian writer allow us to know the history of Las cuatro esquinas game from its origins to the present xxi century
