Olivar: indización de artí­culos y visibilidad dela publicación en la red

Abstract

This paper comes up as a response to fulfill the need of a cumulative
index for Olivar journal, which would allow the grouping of articles in all
of its 16 numbers by subject, author, and date. As a first step, a file was
analyzed containing descriptors assigned to each article in the area of
technical processes of FaHCE in order to evaluate its possible reusability.
But they were not taken into account, due to the lack of consistency and
normalization in this description, and so the 283 registers that compose
the collection of articles of Olivar, within the period 2001-2012, was indexed
again, with a vocabulary of controlled terms which would improve
the specificity of the description. The terms obtained during this process
were ordered alphabetically and may be reused by the authors to assign
the key words through OJS platform, and to build the cumulative index.
Finally, some of the descriptors assigned by BIBHUMA and Scielo search
engines were tested, which confirms the importance of the technical processes
in increasing the visibility of publications and in helping a greater
community of readers to get access to them.
