Abstract
The definition of Hispanism as the study of Hispanic languages and literatures has acquired different dimensions, when considered either in its diachronic evolution or from a Spanish or Latin-American perspective. This discipline shows in Argentina well-differentiated marks of a cultural development, which provide possible answers about its genesis, actual status and future projections, all related to identity constructions.
